Lawrence Springborg is the Leader of the Queensland Coalition and the Member for Southern Downs. He is also the Leader of the Nationals & Opposition.
Lawrence was elected to State Parliament in 1989.
Prior to entering Parliament Lawrence managed the family’s property.
At just 21 he became the youngest person ever elected to the Queensland Parliament. Lawrence was appointed the Minister for Natural Resources in 1998.
Lawrence was appointed the Leader of the Opposition in February 2003. Following the 2006 election, he made the decision to stand down as Leader.
Lawrence is married to Linda and the couple have four children. His hobbies include reading, political history and astronomy.
